Is CarInfo legit?
A fair question: the used car market has its share of scams. Here is everything you can check about us yourself before you pay anything.
Who runs the site
CarInfo (carinfovin.com, carinfo.ro and the other domains listed below) is run by SND TEAM S.R.L., a Romanian company based in Sibiu county. The company details are public and can be checked by its tax ID in the Romanian Trade Register.

For every paid report you receive an invoice by email, issued by the company above.
Where the report data comes from
The report collects the records found for the VIN in 1000+ sources across 32 countries: vehicle registries, insurers, garages, auctions, sale listings. We do not write the history ourselves and we do not fill gaps with guesses.
When the sources have nothing on a car, the report says so plainly. The mileage verdict and the score are assessments of the data found, explained in the report, not certificates.
What you see before you pay
- For free, for your VIN: the make of the car and whether the sources have data on it. If they don't, you find out before paying.
- A complete sample report, with the same structure as the one you receive.
- The prices, public, with no subscription and no hidden costs.
Payment and your money
You pay by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal, through Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
The report is ready in about 60 seconds and also arrives by email.
A delivered report is not refunded, because every query to the sources costs us, even when it finds nothing. If the report comes back with no information at all about the car, you get a discount code, except for cars less than 18 months old, which usually have no history yet. If the report cannot be generated because of us, we run it again at no cost or give you a credit for another report, and if that fails too, we refund you.
Who we are not
There are several websites and apps with “car info” in their name. CarInfo has no connection with the Indian CarInfo app, with car.info in Sweden, with carinfo.hu, with carinfos.net or with other sites with a similar name. If you read a complaint about one of them, it is not about us.

Customer reviews
We only collect reviews from people who bought a report: after delivery they get an email with five stars and can write what they liked and what they didn't. A review appears on the site only with the consent of the person who wrote it.
If something is wrong
Write to us at contact@carinfo.ro or through the contact page and we will reply by email. If we cannot reach an agreement, you can turn to the Romanian consumer authority (ANPC) or to alternative dispute resolution (ADR), linked in the site footer.
Frequently asked questions
Is CarInfo a safe site?
Yes. The site is run by SND TEAM S.R.L. (tax ID 38963245), payment goes through Stripe and your card details never pass through our servers. You get an invoice for every report.
What happens if the report has no information about the car?
Before paying you see for free whether the sources have data for your VIN. If, after payment, the report comes back with no information at all about the car, you get a discount code for a future report. Cars less than 18 months old are the exception: at that age, having no history is normal.
Is CarInfo connected to the CarInfo app from India?
No. The Indian CarInfo app, car.info in Sweden, carinfo.hu and carinfos.net are other companies. CarInfo is run by SND TEAM S.R.L., in Romania.
How do I know the report data is real?
For every record the report shows the date and, when the source gives it, the country. You can compare the mileage readings, damage and photos with the car in front of you and with the seller's papers; a complete sample report is public on the site.
